Material · Space · Atmosphere
THREE FOUNDATIONs ONE CLEARER WAY TO BEGIN.
Three core design packages created to bring clarity to different parts of a space. Each Foundation focuses on one essential layer of direction, so the process stays structured, calm, and decision-useful from the start.
These can be booked individually, or combined in sequence for a more complete design process.
WHY THE FOUNDATIONS EXIST
Not every project needs the same kind of help at the same time.
Some spaces need stronger material and colour direction. Others need better layout, clearer function, or a more cohesive overall concept before detailed decisions can be made. The Foundations were created to meet those different needs in a more focused and useful way.
Rather than forcing every project into one broad design service, the studio is structured around three distinct starting points. This allows the process to stay clearer, calmer, and more relevant from the beginning.
Each Foundation can stand on its own, or become part of a more layered design journey over time.
THE THREE FOUNDATIONS
-

Foundation 01 | Atmosphere
Purpose
For spaces that need a clearer visual and sensory direction.Description
Atmosphere focuses on the feeling of the space through colour, materials, finishes, and tonal cohesion. It is designed for rooms that feel visually unresolved, too flat, too disconnected, or simply difficult to bring together in a way that feels intentional. This Foundation helps shape a more grounded and cohesive mood, so design decisions become easier to make and the space begins to carry a stronger identity.
What it focuses on
colour direction
material palette
finishes and surface language
tonal balance
mood and visual cohesion
Best suited for
clients who feel visually stuck
rooms that lack warmth, depth, or coherence
projects needing stronger direction before buying materials or furnishings
spaces where the atmosphere matters as much as the function
-

Foundation 02 | Flow
Purpose
For spaces that need better function, layout, and spatial clarity.Description
Flow focuses on how the space works. It is designed for rooms that feel awkward, difficult to use, poorly arranged, or slightly off in ways that are hard to explain but easy to feel. This Foundation helps bring more logic and ease to the space through layout refinement, movement, arrangement, and practical structure. The goal is not only to improve function, but to create a stronger sense of calm and resolution in the space.
What it focuses on
layout direction
movement through the space
furniture arrangement
zoning and use
practical clarity and spatial balance
Best suited for
rooms that feel off in their layout
spaces that are difficult to furnish well
clients who need help making better use of what is already there
projects where function needs to improve before visual decisions are made
-

Foundation 03 | Vision
Purpose
For spaces that need a stronger overall concept and direction.Description
Vision focuses on the bigger picture. It is designed for projects that need a clearer design identity before more detailed decisions are made around materials, layout, or styling. This Foundation helps define the visual concept, the overall direction of the project, and the kind of space that is being shaped. It is especially useful when the project feels too open, too scattered, or still lacks a clear centre of gravity.
What it focuses on
overall concept direction
visual identity of the space
design language and coherence
bigger-picture decision making
project clarity before deeper development
Best suited for
early-stage projects
clients who need a stronger concept before moving forward
spaces with many ideas but no clear direction
projects that need a more cohesive visual point of view
WHICH FOUNDATION FITS YOUR SPACE?
If you are not fully sure where to begin, this is the simplest way to think about it.
-
You want clearer direction in colour, materials, finishes, and mood.
This is the right starting point if the room feels visually disconnected, lacks depth, or needs a stronger sensory identity before other decisions are made.
-
The layout feels awkward, impractical, or unresolved.
This is the right starting point if the room is difficult to use well, difficult to furnish, or simply does not feel as natural or supportive as it should.
-
You need a stronger overall concept before going further.
This is the right starting point if the project still feels too open, too broad, or too undefined, and what is missing is a clearer design direction to guide everything else.
HOW THE FOUNDATIONS CAN WORK TOGETHER
The Foundations are designed to be flexible.
Each one can be booked as a focused standalone service, depending on what your space needs most right now. For many clients, that is the clearest and most useful place to begin.
They can also be combined in sequence for a more layered process.
A project may begin with Vision to establish the overall direction, continue with Flow to improve layout and use, and move into Atmosphere to shape the material and visual language in a more refined way.
Not every project needs all three. The purpose of the system is not to add more than necessary, but to create a stronger and more appropriate starting point for the work ahead.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER BOOKING
-
Choose the Foundation that matches what you’re stuck on.
Foundation 01 | Atmosphere
When the room feels “off” and you can’t name why. You need a clear tonal direction and material language.Foundation 02 | Flow
When the room doesn’t function well. You need a layout logic that supports movement, zones, and daily use.Foundation 03 | Vision
When you want to see it before committing. You need a visual concept to make decisions with confidence. If you’re unsure, start with Atmosphere. It sets the direction everything else follows.
-
After purchase, you receive an onboarding email with a short intake form.
You’ll be asked for:
photos in natural light (and evening if possible)
basic measurements (or what you have available)
what must stay, what can change, and what feels unresolved
If something is missing, we tell you exactly what we need before we begin.
-
This is an online service, designed to be simple.
You’ll receive:
your PDF delivery by email
a clear decision request (if needed)
one place to reply with questions or approvals
We keep communication direct and structured so nothing gets lost.
-
Some Foundations include two directions so you can choose what feels most natural to live with.
If you can’t decide:
tell us what you like in each option
we guide you to the best fit, or merge the strongest elements (guided blend)
You will never be left with “pretty ideas” without a clear next step.
-
You receive your final PDF folder with clear guidance you can implement over time.
You don’t have to do everything at once. Start with the highest-impact changes first, then build the room step by step.
If you continue into the next Foundation, we carry your direction forward so the process stays cohesive.

FOUNDATION 01 | Atmosphere
Atmosphere establishes the emotional and material direction of a space. It translates your taste into a coherent palette, surface language, and lighting mood, so the room feels intentional and grounded.
Recommended when your space feels unfinished, inconsistent, or hard to “read”, and you want clarity before you invest in furniture, textiles, or decorative choices.
-
Atmosphere is where most projects should begin. When the mood is defined, decisions become easier and purchases become safer. This Foundation gives you a clear north star for colour, material behaviour, and light response.
-
A Design Direction Preview with two distinct directions
Palette logic for the room (base, mid, accent, and contrast)
Material language guidance (key materials, surface feel, and texture balance)
Lighting mood guidance (what kind of light supports the direction, not a technical lighting plan)
One included refinement round to tighten the chosen direction
-
Floor plans, layout drawings, or spatial planning
Shopping lists or full sourcing of products
Contractor drawings, build documentation, or renovation planning
Unlimited variations or ongoing revisions beyond the included refinement round
FOUNDATION 02 | Flow
Flow establishes how the room functions and moves. It clarifies zones, pathways, placement logic, and practical priorities, so the space supports real life with less friction.
Recommended when your layout feels awkward, cluttered, undefined, or inefficient, and you need a clear plan before buying new furniture or storage.
-
Flow is the foundation for comfort and usability. When function is resolved, the room becomes easier to maintain, easier to share, and easier to enjoy. This is where the space starts working with you.
-
A clear Flow Direction for one room with zoning and placement logic
Guidance on furniture placement and scale priorities
Pathway clarity and functional improvements based on how you use the room
Practical notes for what to keep, what to move, and what to avoid
One included refinement round to adjust the direction after review
-
Architectural documentation, technical drawings, or permit plans
Full furniture specification or purchasing services
Custom built-in design documentation for contractors
Unlimited revisions beyond the included refinement round
FOUNDATION 03 | Vision
Vision translates your chosen direction into a clear 3D concept for one room. It helps you see the room before you spend money, so decisions feel confident and cohesive.
Recommended when you know what you want, but need to see scale, composition, and atmosphere clearly before you commit.
-
Vision is for clarity, not complexity. It brings the design together visually so you can move from ideas to implementation. Best results come when Atmosphere and Flow are already defined for the room
-
A 3D Design Direction for one room based on your inputs and chosen direction
Key views that communicate the concept clearly
Guidance on material placement, furniture balance, and overall composition
A practical implementation path for the direction
One included refinement round to tighten the chosen vision
-
Full architectural services or construction documentation
Contractor drawings, joinery drawings, or detailed build specs
Unlimited concept alternatives or open-ended revisions
Full sourcing and purchasing services
Choosing the right starting point
If you feel unsure about the look and feel of your space, begin with Atmosphere. If the layout is the main issue, Flow may be the right starting point. If you want visual certainty, Vision brings the full picture together.
